Alanya Property Turkey Getting its 40 Mins of Fame

Alanya, which was discovered by thousands of overseas property buyers during the boom, because it was largely undiscovered by the hordes, is currently getting its 40 minutes of fame.

First came the announcement that the Alanya Marina was open, the 30th marina in Turkey, with an annual revenue target of $1 million. The Marina cost $7 million to build, and has a 447-yacht capacity (287 in the sea, 160 on land). Yacht owners can enjoy the use of restaurants, cafes, accommodation, shops, travel agencies, saunas, sport centres and tennis courts. The official opening ceremony is scheduled for May and will be attended by Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Next came the announcement that the Alanya airport (AKA Gazipasa) will receive its first international flight May 22nd. Actually this should have been first, because the airport officially opened last year, but because of its chequered past many people took a believe-it-when-we-see-it attitude to the initial announcements.

As was mentioned above, Alanya was noticed by thousands of overseas buyers in the early-mid noughties. It currently has one of the largest expatriate populations in Turkey. Of course, flights are not a major concern for those who plan to live in a country.

However, the lack of an airport within thirty minutes was more than likely off-putting for those buying a holiday home or investment property. So, now Alanya property Turkey has it covered from all angles, by sea and by air, it is easy to get there.
